Yo guys,

I am currently looking into a motorcycle that's registered in the United Kingdom, however I live in Portugal.

Bike is in Portugal at the moment, seller says it's in his name and he has the V5..

It doesn't have a export marker. What procedures do I have to do?

I am registing the bike here, what papers do I have to fill from the uk ? like a bill of sale? if yes could u send me it please

Regards!!

I think you may have a problem following Brexit. I live in Andorra and have been trying to import my UK registered BMW into Andorra. The Customs Agents at the border won´t accept it unless I have a Form T1 - look it up on the internet - even though I have a letter from the DVLA confirming that they regard the bike as permanently exported from the UK. As i see it I can´t get a T1 unless I am either a UK car transport firm (who have the authority to issue Forms T1 on behalf of their customers) or some form of UK motor dealer, who likewise may be able to issue the T1.

Pre Brexit I could just rock up at the Andorran border with an invoice showing the value of the car or bike, pay the Andorran 4.5% import duty and get the car/bike registered here.

You ask about the sales invoice. I'm confused. How can anyone here supply you with a sales invoice? surely the person you are buying the bike from will supply you with the sales invoice?

Yo slippy7k,

I've got your bill of sale. Send me your address and bank details and I'll send it to you!

Talk to Alfândega before you go any further with this purchase. Whatever the post brexit procedures are I’ll bet they haven’t made things any easier.

I would walk away unless the seller gets it registered in Portugal, too much hassle otherwise

I would do your own research, but there will be two parts to this. Part 1, the seller following the correct procedure to declare the bike as being exported, in the UK, and part 2, you following the correct procedure to import the bike, in Portugal. Link below might answer some of the questions around part 1, but I can't comment at all on the details of what would be needed for part 2:
