Mine gets hot and sweaty, and I have to cool my hand down with the air vent.

Mine never gets that hot - the whole transmission area gets warm but not very hot.

Yes, under special circumstances, mine does too. In fact it get's so hot even other people can't touch it!

Mines been known to get warm/hot on occasion

General mway/town driving: warmish but kinda nice in Winter
Minor hooning on A's: getting warmer
Mega hooning on A's & B's: feck that's getting hot
FUBAR Hooning: Fried palms time

Add to that the inbuilt warm air flow from the trans tunnel and no aircon and it gets well, a bit hot in the cockpit. The only solution I've found is windows open, right foot down

Yup, getting cool airflow over the knob is the only way to regulate the temperature...

I also find that when I am not warmed up yet my knob shakes from side to side a bit...

Well mine sometimes rattles a bit unless I give it a sharp clockwise twist. I generally rest my hand on it whilst driving. It's strangely comforting, and keeps the palms hair-free.
