S212 rear airbags

I am thinking of preemptively changing my rear airbags on my Mercedes E350 estate.

My respected local Indy is suggesting £1500 to change which seems slightly excessive but does use OEM parts.

Can it be done cheaper, but maintaining quality, using Arnotts bags or similar?

If so, roughly how much should a garage (Mercedes Indy or local garage) charge if I supply the bags?

Word of warning.

Garages don't like fitting "customer supplied" parts as if something goes wrong who's warranty is the claim on?

First, you need to find somewhere willing to do this. Do NOT get the parts then try as you may well then still need to pay again.
