Headlight bulb conversion

Right I've checked out the bulbs in my 04 plate Monaro and it looks like I can do the mod - from H11 standard and H9 full beam. I see from previous posts on here that some of you have done the mod to upgrade to H9 in both. Question is this - did you modify the bulbs or did you modify the socket?I'd prefer to modify the bulbs obviously rather than risk damaging the socket and wondered if anyone had photos of the before and after of a modified bulb?

Hello

Yes cut the lug off the inside of the buld as there is no need to touch the socket.
Just remember not to touch the glass of the new bulb

I trimmed mine with a shape knife.

cheers for that - looks far simpler to do that than the original connector mod that was being talked about. Now I just need to find myself so nice replacement H9's.

is £60-70 a pair the typical price I should be paying for a set of H9 or H11 bulbs?
