Not really sure what to make of that.

We can't know but what are the chances the burglar was giving the intimidation one last go before scarpering? By the sound of it she was extremely lucky either way.

A weird Dept of Justice statistic is that of all burglaries that "go violent" (about 1:4 where the burglary is discovered by the resident) 65% of those are committed by intruders *known* to the victim and only 28% were strangers. The mind boggles...

Tbf, even anti-armed citizenry me wouldn't even consider it inappropriate that she shot first, or that the repeated threats whilst holding a gun might just be bravado.

I read that too - yikes, she got hit multiple times from a 9mm hand gun? Thats one sturdy woman!

Good on her. He was threatening her life with a gun, would he have followed it through, who knows. He put himself in the predicament. Sadly OAP burglaries can end up in murder. This one was less than a mile from us. He got life, with a minimum of 34 years.
