Unfortunately when trying to check my oil level in the mini the dipstick snapped in half and I was wondering if it would be worth getting it out? I may need a mechanic to do so as il mess it up!

Have you used a torch to see where it connects to the oil pan and if you can unto it, to retrieve it and try and get the dipstick out that way?

I believe it's a fairly substantial front end removal job to get the dipstick tube off and get it out. If your going that far then look to get the supercharger service done whilst it's apart. Then buy yourself a steel spring type dipstick.

Is the dipstick magnetic?

If so, one of those 'magnet on an extendable stick' jobbies that's small enough to fit down the tube might help you out ...

Definitely worth getting it out as these are quite renowned for using oil & needing to keep track of the oil level.

Not sure if you would need to go (as above) into what mini call "front maintenance mode" surely, just take the sump off & pull it out from underneath?

Most people replace them with steel bowden cable tyre dipsticks as they are renowned for breaking.
