As per title. Can anyone recommend any electric ones. Specifically want one that's mains operated and not one of the portable battery operated ones.

I normally buy the cheap 50p manual ones from the suparmarket however a family member has hand issues making opening cans difficult. . There doesn't seem to be many options out there.
I'm no powerfully built company director so don't really want to be spending more than £20-30 but don't want something that'll break after first use (which i see my reviews on the popular ones)

What you need is a 'Bonzer' bench can opener.

Indestructible and no effort to open even the sturdiest tins.

Stupidly expensive, but try Ebay.

I have one. I couldn't tell you what brand it is as it's been in the family since I've been alive and still going strong. On the reverse side it has a knife sharpening doodah.

Edit: It's a Russell & Hobbs Model 9908. I'm sure it's been out of production for at least 40 years!

Looks very much like this one: https://www.gumtree.com/p/food-drink-makers/russel...

Couple of options here. The battery ones work ok, there is a mains one but not tried it. Looks okay though.

Why not battery operated? Bought this back in 2021 purely on a whim and wasn't expecting much. Only two weeks ago did I have to put new batteries in.....................

Two days later I had to order another for the MIL

First try was on the ultimate test a Fray Bentos Pie. Here's my video of the event. Ignore my end comment as it did actually work (the lid was held on by suction laugh

Yeh I know it's slow but gives you time to to put the beans and mash on rofl

I ended up picking up a mains powered one for £10 in asda. 2year warranty. so far so good.

the problem with battery ones is...batteries. I have some digital scales that use cell batteries, despite me maybe using it once or twice a month and reguarly replacing the battery the battery always seems to be on low and cuts off. would really like one that's probably mains operated... or rechargable.

I'd bet that wont open a Fray Bentos Pie - tenner to charity if it does - you get two attempts and must be videoed thumbup

My Russell Hobbs one does. Well it did a couple of weeks ago!
