Help, Portugese year old speeding fine has just arrived!
Discussion
If anyone might be able to guide me on this one it would be most appreciated.
For a start, its in Portugese.
I hired a car in March last year via Hertz for a three day break, had a lovely time.
Fast forward to yesterday, and Hertz have sent me an email, including an attached document that appears to be the equivalent to an S172, grainy pics and a form to give driver details. 91 in a 70 (kph), plus a 37euro admin fee.
I should like to keep things straight as I wish to return later this year and in my experience of hire companies, Hertz are one of the better ones.
I appreciate that in the UK a NIP is required to be issued to the vehicle owner within 14 days for it to be valid, not the driver.
If anyone here might be able to help, or direct me to an online resource to answer questions such as:
1. is this enforceable
2. if so, what fine is likely
3. would I receive points
Thanks in advance.

If it were me I'd confess and pay up. Speeding fines on the continent tend to be pretty low. Pay it and enjoy future repeat visits. All this is assuming it was you driving of course.
Yes I fully admit I was driving. Thanks for that.
Is there any official online address on the attachment?
I got done in Spain and was sent the equivalent speeding ticket. There was a website address which had an English language option and I went from there. Wasn’t that much in the end so just paid it rather than the possibility of any hassle should I return.

Looks like a scam to me.
I would delete the email - and do a chargeback on the credit card for the "admin fee".
An e mail demanding money a year after the event? It's called taking the piss.
There’s a two year statute of limitations on motoring offences in Portugal & from experience they tend not to rush with these things. I would delete the email - and do a chargeback on the credit card for the "admin fee".

In case of doubt, these guys are the entity OP should be expecting to hear from with payment details:-

Thanks for that, I have sent them an email requesting a link to an online resource for payment, as I can't see one on their website. In case of doubt, these guys are the entity OP should be expecting to hear from with payment details:-

I doubt if you can use their online resources without a Portuguese driving licence or bank account. Suspect it’s just a question of returning the s172 equivalent form & wait for a letter or Email which will include banking details.http://www.ansr.pt/Pages/FAQs_en.aspx
