With a lot of trail notices at Glentress for maintenance and storm damage, and for a little change of scenery we are thinking of heading out to Carron Valley
in the next day or so but noticed the routes are Red graded.

We are all comfortable on the Glentress blues (albeit none of us can manual or jump).

Think we would be fine for Carron Valley or should we look for somewhere else a little easier?

First trip out of the year so looking forward to getting out beer

Carron Valley was all but closed, I wasn't even aware it was back fully open again. However trail wise, there's nothing that challenging... but I'd maybe check in with a local social media based page for the latest updates. Glentress has way more variety and trail length and there's still a lot open... very little is disrupted just now and the bits that are have pretty decent diversions in place.

Falkirk / Canada Wood has a nice variety of trails, been a lot of work recently so whilst not huge, the blue trail is a nice bit flowy single track then there's a lot of news stuff on the far side but again all totally doable. Could also look at Beecraigs, plenty natural rooty stuff and a good skills area or there's Comrie Croft an hour north though aside for the lower blue, it's pretty tech up the top but really good fun and all natural.
