I haven't used PH for many years now, much preferring FB. However, for the benefit of those who may have missed it, this years event takes place from 7th to 9th. June 2024, based at Chesford Grange in Kenilworth. Full details can be found on the Blackpool Thunder website. Please note that bookings close on 1st May 2024, or sooner once available places are filled. Please feel free to DM me for any further information - I'm one of the organisers. https://blackpoolthunder.com/thunder-events/#!even...

I normally just pop down for the Saturday, I presume that will still be feasible? It's a 400 mile round trip from here so I wouldn't want to turn up and find I had the wrong colour loafers or incorrect school tie or something.
Last time I didn't have the 390 back together in time so I went down on the bike; Mr. Winterbottom kindly autographed a bit of my car that I took along biggrin

Of course Ian - quite a few years since we met at one of these events. I will say that we're planning to leave the hotel at 9.00, and probably won't be back until about 5.00, but by all means join us at some point if convenient. And no, no funny handshakes or code words to join in!

Wow...I remember that...was it 2013 or 2014...poor ole soul is not with us anymore..I am hopefully going but need to give Delilah a shake down as she has not been driven much in 10 years..do not want to be a killjoy but may hang back this year and enjoy the relaxation of the hotel and maybe local areas rather than loads of driving, I do not have holidays as such so it would be nice just to relax somewhere probably get spat at for not partaking but hey...not the first time...laugh

Be good to get the numbers up..shame Ettington is non-operandus or we could have paid a nostalgic visit to the tarmac...woohoo...bandit

I think it was 2016/17 as the 390 was in bits for quite a while - diff oil seals, rear brakes, chassis painting, all brake and fuel lines, modified the handbrake, welded one of the tanks, full suspension re-bush, blast and repaint... it just went on. The fact that I was able to weld the tank shows you how long it had been empty.
Since then of course we had Covid and then some utterly ludicrous fuel prices so I didn't even bother MOTing it.
I've had it 23.5 years and it's done about 30k miles in that time. Almost pointless really. Almost... wink

I got Oliver's book for xmas a couple of years back, picked up a few interesting things I hadn't known.

A mate of mine has spent several years importing DeLoreans (he's up to 13 I think) so I've spent a bit of time under them and it's amusing to see how it was essentially derived from the Esprit chassis... and I can confirm that the centre console ashtray on the TVR is identical to the one in the DMC12, so I wonder (given the chronology) whether TVR acquired some spare production once DeLorean went udders-upwards.
