NATO’s engagement with global partners is taking on increasing importance in a complex security environment, where many of the challenges the Alliance faces are global and no longer bound by geography.

Seems like a no-brainer to me. We need to keep countries out of the clutches of Russia and China.

A great idea for Argentina (and also for US Defence contractors) but I'm not sure what's in it for the UK or the rest of NATO.

But joining NATO won't necessarily stop them acting against NATO's interests if their Govt. chooses to do so (take Erdogan for example). OTOH it does impose a responsibility on the rest of NATO to defend them against the likes of Brazil or Chile.

They are NOT joining NATO they just want to become a partner and cooperate with NATO
