The AT is dead .... long live the AT!..
Went for a ride on friay last about 20:00, and was joining the A303, 10 miles from home when this car comes towards me on my side of the road.
I have an option .. im doing 30 mph.. do I hit the car or take the bike offroad ?
I choise the offroad route and activly turn the bike into the nearside kerb.
Car does not stop, and we miss each other.
I however slam into the kerb, the bike goes down. I go down too.

The rest is a bit of a blurr, but I remember landing on my left side and rolling for about 50 meters as the bike digs into the left hand banking.

When I finally come too.. a bit dazed, Matey boy in the car isnt anywhere to be seen, its just getting dark, and the bike is 20 feet from me.
I get up, collapse, get up again and get across to the bike.
Im not sure how I managed it, but I managed to get the bike upright, and push it onto the side of the road.
.. Then I collapsed again.

No Breaks, but have a swollen right knee, torn muscles on my left arm, and bruised ribs(im gonna be sore for the next week or so).

The Bike .... all electrics work (lights horn etc) but the starter motor will not turn(key in, kill switch off, press ... nothing).
Cannot seem to get the bike into Neutral either(clutch in works though!)
.
The plastics are scuffed and covered in grass. the right hand engine crash bar took the full force of the impact along with the right rear pannier rack.
The crash bar is completely twisted, and will probably need replacing. the rear pannier rack has squashed up against the rear plastic, and will probably have to be cut off (cannot open the seat).
The powerbronze screen is cracked, and the front nearside indicator is smashed.

Looks like im gonna fix the bike myself. I can get the plastics polished / painted, will buy another powerbronze screen and right pannier rack.
As MOTARD have stopped building crash bars, will be looking for alternatives

No point in reporting it.. I cannot ID the vehicle or the driver. No CCTV in the countryside either

Had a chat with Mrs. T about this last night. It may be worth reporting it, in case someone went passed as you were lying in the ditch and they saw the car. Other than that what a complete pr. Heal quickly mate.

Steve.

Treat that knee with great care. I'd reckon it's worth seeing a doctor/physio over it. It might appear to get better and then suddenly start giving you grief after a few years when you think it's OK. Knees are a bastard.

Bad luck Jason, glad you're ok. Report it to the Police - you should be able to claim for the damage from the Uninsured Drivers Fund?

If you need a hand to fix the damage, give me a shout.
