You'll all tell me how rubbish NIS is! :)

But can anyone tell me why, after every time I install an update, Norton throws a wobbly and blocks everything until I turn security off and then back on again? (Windows XP Home and Firefox)

The files are different versions, therefore Norton thinks it's a different application trying to get out. It's working by design. If it's any consolation, Zone Alarm is the same.

While it's memory and process-hungry, it's the only package I've found that (when used along with MS Anti-Spyware) seems to adequately protect my computer.

I like it

Ah - thanks for the explanation. So: "they all do that, sir!"?

At least two of us like Norton then!
