Hi Folks,

I am off down to Mallory Park to race in a new style mini cooper in the Scottish Cooper Cup. I was wondering if anyone had any experience in front wheel drive cars round there? My car has fully adjustable Leda Suspension and ride height is also adjustible. Any help would be appreciated. I am testing next Wed and racing on the Sunday 25th.

Thanks

Graham

Hi, I cant really help on a fwd car but the important thing is you need to be happy with the setup to maintain a lot of speed into and around Gerrards. if your compromised around there your stuffed. the other important area is the hairpin, you need traction out of there or you'll loose all the way to gerards, its also a good spot to get the jump on someone.

Im racing that weekend aswell in the tuscan ans should be testing on the 21st also, pop over and say hi, blue tuscan, pink taz

I set up a MINI Cooper Works 1.6 at Mallory for the John Cooper Challenge a couple of years ago and it got 3rd on the grid.

Toe - straight ahead
front dampers (SPAX coilovers) 2/3 hard
rear dampers (SPAX coilovers) full hard
Tyre pressures will depend on weather but we had:
FL Cold-26 Hot-34
FR Cold-28 Hot-34
RL Cold-31 Hot-36
RR Cold-32 Hot-36

Last lap of qually he was on a flyer and rolled it at the Esses. DOH!

PM me if you want any other data. I raced the car last year and still have some of the info.
