This is the same Bernie Ecclestone who gave such driving stars as Hector Rebaque and Ricardo Zunino drives when he ran the Brabham team.

Started three times, finished none, so on paper yes ...

BUT

Pretty close to Webber when qualifying the Minardi, who isn't a slouch at that part of the weekend, and according to BAR, his equivalent BAR time was pretty good too.

Throwing the Minardi off twice was maybe inexcusible from a career development point of view, whatever the excuses, but can't blame him for a first lap engine blow up in the BAR.

No doubting that he is quick, and no reason to say that anybody else would be a better F1 racer. However, I do have a feeling that Rosberg Jr would be pretty spectacular too!

Well I would replace Rosberg with Kovalainen of these two Finns.

Sure, but Kovalainen is under contract to Briatore and has been offered the Renault test driver job for next year. Rosberg makes a great deal of sense, especially since Williams "agreed" not to take up their option on Heidfeld and are also likely to trouser some cash from Honda for Button. I've heard rumours that Fisi is destined for Williams - if true, I wonder whether Kovalainen gets the nod straight into Renault as no.2 driver?

That'll be fun to watch and finally proove his detractors right or wrong according to how he performs against Barrichello.
