Have a 991.1 Turbo S. Previous owner had fitted a (rather fabulous) Litchfield Titanium Exhaust. Problem is that it is quite loud and my better half refuses to travel any real distance in it and I fancy doing some touring.

In evaluating options (divorce, ear-plugs etc), I asked an OPC for a quote to supply and fit a new OEM exhaust. They wanted the princely sum of £14,500 !!

Staggeringly expensive.

A set of noise cancelling headphones are about £300.

Ridiculous for a downgrade.

Maybe try some decibel reducing exhaust tips, or just change the CATs only from sports Akrapovic back to something more standard. You’d be able to sell the Akrapovic items on eBay as well.

You can buy a used standard exhaust in eBay sometimes for roughly £600-800, from Germany they around £2k used,

I have my standard one in my loft with cats and sensors , but will be going back in when selling the car . Interested in your Lichfield exhaust though if your selling . I have a quicksilver one but quality is rubbish.

Not cheap and possibly a deal to be done but still a third cheaper than OPC quote

Some of the Porsche parts pricing makes absolutely no sense. I was trying to order a replacement switch for the 918 LWBS (the switch that makes the seat go up and down). £320 from Porsche yet they do various other switches including four way ones for around £50. It’s insane!!

Sorry, I read Akrapovic when it’s Litchfield. Why don’t you give them a call and see if they can increase the number of cells in the CATs. There must be a relatively cheap solution. Also handy as they’ll be able to check if this throws an engine light and sort it out if it does.

Get on a relevant Facebook Group and ask if anyone wants to do a swap with money your way? I'm sure there are plenty of owners with standard exhausts who'd love to upgrade without having to spend £6k on the exhaust you have.

^ This, Litchfield is well regarded, and any prospective purchaser has the benefit of being able to hear what it sounds like on/in the OP’s car too.

This is what I'd suggest, checkout FB groups, especially PCGB regional ones if you're a member, you're bound to find someone willing to swap
