yep

settings from 2-10seconds with f-stops chosen by the camera.

In case anyones wondering, the squiggles will be my hand pushing the button and the camera rocking on the tripod. I struggled to judge when to press it with the 2second delay and missed too many shots.

Nice.

Unfortunately the D1x hasn't got mirror lock up - but you can always try using the timer - this will avoid your hand movement on the camera. Remember to close the little flap on the viewfinder mind - this will stop any stray light getting in.

I haven't just joined the dark side, been a member for coming up to 2 years now

Thats what that is for then, I couldn't fathom out why you'd want something to close half the viewfinder. Figured it was some crazy designer somewhere

I've always read that (the D70 has a little plastic jobbie I clip to the strap) but how much difference does it really make?

Must say I never cover the viewfinder on my D70 when shooting remotely or on timer at night time.

I suppose at nearly twice the size the viewfinder on the bigger nikons lets more light in!

the problem I had was I was on a bridge halfway down a hill in a pitch-black B road where drivers, rightly, put their main beams on destroying the pictures with lens flare.

I took over 100 images whilst playing with settings and the like and those that are on my site I'm happy with

edit:: I was only joking btw, I'm no way a photographer (yet) and take critism on the chin very easily

I guess we all have to add our contributions!!!

I took this last year in December on Warren House Road on the bridge that crosses the A329(M) coming into Wokingham. (Just past the Bullfinch if anyone know the pub).

I took the photo with my Canon EOS 300D on a tripod and using a trigger cable on the following settings:

Shutter Speed: 20 sec
Lens: 18-55mm wide angle F/29
ISO: 200

Hope you like it!

I think it was 20 or 25 seconds at f13 or something like that. Tripod and remote release cable too.

Got a couple more I'll dig out.
