Things that make me giggle....
Discussion
Certainly not a winge session !
Driving to work yesterday I changed the clock. It might have been the fact that it was half five in the morning, but it took longer than I would care to admit that you have to move the adjuster anti-clockwise to make the hands move clockwise, and obviously vikki-verky.
It just made me giggle.
Got me thinking about other things on the car that have the same effect, the boot release inside the car, the indicator flasher thingy that is on the passenger side, the battery that needs an engineering degree to remove, the washer bottle top up that is positioned in a place where it is difficult to get a watering can to it.......
anyone elase got something that I've missed ?
Luv the car, luv the experience, these things make it more luvable, just makes me giggle.......

pdv6 said: Sticking with the original post... Running the clock forward 11 hours rather than back 1, cos it only adjusts one way (and then overshooting by 1 minute and having to start again )
My Mum's Fiat is like that... only it's digital, so you have to do 60 minutes to move the hour forward...
I would have just left it. In fact i still have to do the same with the clock. Oh! i forgot Chimaera is in at the garage and guess what i am driving at the mo, A mondeo! 2.0ltr 16valve and whats worst is its front wheel drive. Handbreak works like a charm though S3TAY

I tell you what makes me giggle! The phone call i have just had from the garage telling me that i have to wait 8 weeks for a new speedo. Does anybody know how to get a TVR Chimaera milage clock to start working again????? Or even a new one would do! The fact that i may be without my car for that long makes me feel
Nice one Raceboy! The damn thing is just stuck at 28999 miles and all the garages i have taken it too so far have just and given it me back. This could save me so much time. Cheers I rang them and they can repair Chimaera clocks up to a certain year but not 1999 T registered like mine is. He has recomended Speedy Cables and i am going to ring them now!

.......Red for cold, green for hot on heater control , .....er I think.
Filling the boot with petrol.
Different offset f/r wheels......different make( Ford/Peugeot) aftermarket wheels.
Whats the small circular twirly thing with the white spot on it for,.... left of s/wheel on plastic wotsit ( you know , where the indicator stalk is)
Plastic water carrying pipes on wiper arms, placed strategicly to obscure vision on dark rainy nights,....... relying on oncoming traffic to illuminate the road for you.....
Golf balls rattling around in the boot ( Scruffy) `cos you can`t get your golf bag out without tipping it up.
I could go on but you might think I`m twisted and bitter.

'And a boot that you can only open with the ignition on.'
Yes, it's a pain but essential for security in a convertible. Otherwise, any passing reprobate could lean in when you've left the car, press the button and help himself to the contents of your boot.
Then again, perhaps it could be made to work with the central locking.... nah, too easy, that's how everyone else does it!

John,
I think you'll find that this is a common problem (almost always when they go past XX,999). Try tapping the speedo as you are driving along and they sometimes spring back to life.
Even without the odometer working why are you losing the car for 8 weeks - you don't legally need a milometer, just a speedo, and as the new ones going to read wrong anyway, I'd just carry on using the car - it will probably sort itself out.
Mike.
