Chromebook/hdmi

I bought an Acer chromebook a few months ago and my son an Asus neither of which have hdmi connection.They do however have full function usb type c for which we have an adaptor which solves this problem.Is this standard for all chromebook.

No, not all. But it's becoming increasingly common across all laptops, not just Chromebooks.
