wow where did you get that clip?

motorsport news has the photos this week, incredible ball of fire on impact, then you see the car split into two - lucky escape.

racing round an ovel at 200 mph plus is insanity, and how much skill does it show? ok you have to be good (and brave) but watching it there is very little car conrol to be seen.

Very lucky boy. Echoes of the crash at Texas that injured Kenny Brack and the Indy crash that killed Tony Renna.

Sadly, I think this is the nature of the beast when it comes to open wheel racing on ovals, and short of not racing on ovals at all, I don't see what can be done to reduce the risk. The IRL is much safer than it used to be, that's for sure - I think a lot of that is down to an increase in driver quality as much as car design, but 220mph wheel to wheel racing in close proximity to concrete walls is always going to be risky. I'm amazed there haven't been more fatalities in CART/IRL to be honest, considering the severity of some of the accidents over the last few years.

Amazing escape - how I miss oval racing. Never on at sensible times these days.

I still believe that kenny bracks accident lastyear was far more severe and he was even more lucky to live!.
