Servicing - East Midlands

Just acquired a Lotus Elise S2 (2002) that needs a B service.

Got quoted 480 quid from the local dealer (Stratstone, Leicester) and 240 from Horizon in Brum.

Anyone got any recommendations a bit nearer home?

Leicester rules (well kinda)! I'm from there!... but now live in Norfolk. Sorry, can't help with the servicing but can tell you that 'Storm' now Stratsone didn't have the best reputation...

Hmm, I'd read elsewhere that Storm/Stratstone were useless and considering they're charging x2 what a specialist is, it's a no brainer - just 120 mile roundtrip to Horizon will take a big chunk out of the day

B service = £246.77+VAT

Don't think you will find a B spec service at a lotus specialist in the east of england for much less than that.

Horizon are well regarded on SELOC & very keenly priced. Nice people too - gave me a free check on my Elise when I bought it.

Tell PTP that you were recommended by people on here and on MLOC - feedback like that helps them to pay for banner ads!

OK, service completed. Drove back and nothing fell off / blew up, so I guess that means it's OK.

Seriously though, I don't know what I would look for in a 'good' service, apart from obvious post-service problems.

Their customer service was OK - it took a bit longer than the 2 1/2 hours quoted, more like 3 1/2, but I wasn't in a massive hurry.
