Morning all,

Has anyone used a Land Rover main dealer for a front Disc and Pad replacement recently? I’ve just been quoted just shy of £1300 quid for the aforementioned….

I’m more than comfortable cracking this out myself, with the OEM Brembo discs and pads (plus pad wear sensors) coming in at just shy of £300.

My local Land Rover dealer (Hereford) is awesome, but I can’t help but thinking that price quoted is designed for people that have recently had a financial lobotomy, or have no idea how much things should cost. Or am I missing something?

I would be more concerned that a new Defender needs brakes and pads already.

A 4 year old car that consistently tows a trailer with building materials, and a track car, around Herefordshire (it’s quite hilly…..). Hence that’s not the question I asked.

I’ve used them a few times, they are brilliant. Fitted my tow bar and side steps on this car and did a load of work on my old Disco Sport.

Sounds like absolute lunacy pricing - I assume this is a dealer who has a few of the giant glass palace showrooms to pay for? Our local dealer are fantastically expensive too.

Would you mind sharing where you can get the parts from, would be handy for future reference for when I have to do mine. Thanks

Whilst at the same time having a conveyor belt of mechanics because they pay absolutely diabolical wages!

No worries. I got them online at GSF Car parts. They are on offer at the moment as well. I had to pay seperatly and collect the pad sensors, but the discs and pads themselves were £283 delivered.

I've just had both the front and rear discs and pads replaced on my 72 plate RR at 30k miles. All four discs were warped and three of my wheels are showing signs of buckling. It cost me £3k at an independent. The LR discs and pads are substantially more expensive than on the previous generation RR.
