Good evening, I have bought a new screen as the original has multiple cracks is beyond repair. I am now in the position where I am struggling to get it fitted. Is there any one on here had a new screen fited recently in Central Scotland who could recommend a trusted filter and has done these cars previously. Any help much appreciated.

Is it an original screen? I ask because AFAIK, they are NLA.

The aftermarket ones don't fit/fit well.

I’m in central Scotland and Auto glass did mine via my insurance a few years ago. They did a good job in the end, after trying a couple of aftermarket screens that wouldn’t fit and were eventually convinced to get an original, from a TVR specialist (can’t remember who).
The car was off the road for ages as had to wait for the different screens and one of their experienced fitters who went on holiday!
Good luck

Yes it's a new original screen took me months to get it though.

Good fitters tip
Whoever you do find to fit it make sure they put roof panel back on to check alignment is correct and roof panel still fits before anything sets.
In most cases it’s generally accepted re using your rubber seal a good thing due to newer ones not being quite the right shape and often very difficult to get the new seal to bend correctly and take the two tight corners around the top of screen where roof profile also fits. Bad fit sort of issue.

That requires the chap removing the old screen to be careful.
Tvr centres such as Central Tvr used to reuse seal if it’s condition allows including my own which shows it can be removed safely and intact.
My screen has never leaked since and the original rubber sits perfectly.
That was probably 10 years ago so maybe better seals are now available.
Hopefully someone who fitted a new seal can elaborate.

Never again.

The smaller/thinner profiles are okay; it's the wider, frame rubbers.

I'd rather spend an hour cleaning the old one. New ones are made from old tyres or something. Awful.

Hello chaps

sorry cant help ya's on sreen fit , again as per posted I always used auto windscreens back in the day.
Can help though with many other aspects of TVR ownership

Scottish TVR owners!
Hi I started My TVR working life in 1993,
After dealership work I started up my own TVR specialist In East Lothian.
Which I closed in 2007 as I went into the race car world full time..
Le mans, IMSA, World endurance championship..
Racing was fun but travel broke me and I retired from racing two years ago…
Since then I have another company but Ive also been doing some part time doing some TVR work in Scotland..
Ive got some limited capacity, I come to you and carry the work in your garage…
Ive enjoyed seeing old friends and cars I screwed the number plates on when it was new!

Experience is a wonderful thing.
Actually that’s the other thing, my original rubber has a sort of gloss to it where new rubbered screens I’ve seen are more a matt finish and look a bit naff to me biggrin
