Why is it that when you tell people a secret or something you don't want many people to find out about, suddenly everyone f:censored:king knows about it? And the people you told normally f:censored:k you around?

PHer's, with your vast experience, is it better just to keep s:censored:t to yourself?

Depends on whether you are still at school m1spw. Did this happen in the playground?

And in response to your question - yes, keep things to yourself unless you are 100% sure you can trust the one you confide in.

The bad news is that very few people are born being able to accurately judge who to trust. The rest of us have to develop it as a skill (yup, it comes with age and experience). And unfortunately, getting let down by people is the primary way we learn to differentiate.

Chalk it down to experience.

I really really hate knowing that there's a secret that I don't know about!

If people want to keep secrets, fine...just don't tell me there's one!!

Whatever you do M1spw, don't tell Pat. He'll accidently let it slip when he's on Shiraz!

I learnt in life that you should trust no one, except your parents (I would say partner - but old ones are not the be trusted either).

By forging a friendship based on sound morals from both sides, take care not to give over too much at first and increase it bit by bit then over time you will build trust,it takes time and is mutual.
A good friendship is not rushed.

In all honesty... If I have something I do want broadcast, I tell someone in confidence, next thing its everywhere,

eg: These pills the doctor gave me for my tiredness have worked great, unfortunately they have swollen my glands and I now have a 12" penis

I don't... its just an example, in reality its well over a foot

[patronising old git]If you get annoyed everytime someone close to you lets you down you'll have a pretty miserable life.

The only relationship I can think of where this is unlikely to happen is parent/child (but that's far from a given either).

Outside of that everyone you know is just a random person that fate has by chance aquainted you with, try not to expect too much and learn to bounce through life as best you can....[/patronising old git]

What was the secret? You didn't tell your best mate that you wore silk thongs to work? That one never gets kept a secret........ i expect

what ever happened to southpaw??

in response to the original post.....sorry mate, some people arnt good at keeping secrets. if you know any people like that, then you dont share a secret with them.

as someone else pointed out, the trick is to figure out who they are, and the only way to do that, is the hard way
