Elise Security
Discussion
The other day I came to my 111R with loads of bits and bobs to go in the boot. Through total stupidity I managed to close the boot lid with the ignition keys inside. Panic!! However determination set in and I was shocked to find how easy it was to get into the locked boot by simply lifting up the rear edge of the engine cover enough to allow my arm to enter the boot and retrieve the keys. This area should not be regarded as secure and is easily entered, so don't leave anything of value in the boot. Has anybody else locked their keys in the boot??
Girlfriend did same thing as Bogie - she left keys in ignition with engine running and closed door realising both were locked for security whilst on the move. She got in within 5 minutes through the roof - I should add we have the S2 long tail roof which makes it even easier to get into!

Thanks for the info.
I am surprised by the fact that it is possible to "bend" the engine cover without cracking the paint.
I do not plan to try but I understand that the locking device is still engaged at the motor level but you raise the plastic part after the black plastic grid?
Waow. Nice to know the trick.
I think the S1 system with the lever behind the door was a very good system. But maybe long term owner have seen flaw with that system
