Given the choice of working for anyone in any field I am probably quite embarrassed to say that for me, it would be Google.

Brilliance in accessible form...

We have two of those server bottom left in our machine room. 7 Years ago when I started work here they were fantastically fast - now my laptop has faster processors and more ram and hdd space!

It would be good fun! Heard rumours they encourage their staff to spend one day a week working on their own projects and they have a team of girls that go around giving massages.

There's a video you can download off the site which gives you a trip around the Californian base, looks fantastic - just like Microsoft by all accounts, with it's own shops, dry cleaning, parks, restaurants, tennis courts, etc.

They were advertsing for a position not so long ago and one of the requirements was at least TWO Phds!

Thank god for that, it's not just us then.

Although i have still got a Mk1 Dell Dimension running 2k server (far right in the pic). A raging P133 and 64mb ram. Feel the power.

I can trump your p133 with a p120 running NT4 (so to be retired - at last)

F50?

Thats an AS/400 model if its the same thing.

The boxes are a wee bit bigger usually.

F50 and DASD would be the same size as two 32U rackmounts or thereabouts.

Just noticed the Lego in the original picture

One of the Google inventors reached the Geek hall of fame for building a working Lego inkjet printer.

Nope its an RS/6000 F50 (7025 model code) with some power pc 604e in it.

Better view of it here

The lego turns out to be a home made scsi disk enclosure
