Would some kind chap with a parts/service manual please let me know what type of screws are used to fix the rear grilles in place please? Also is there a captive nut in place in the clam? If so, how do I put some new ones in?

there is a little rubber rawlnut thing that just pushes into the rear clam and basically uses friction to stop it turning as you do it up. i managed to lose one into the clam, but, having spent a fortune at peter smiths, they gave me a new one!

Your answer is half the answer! I'm still wondering what the fixing screws are! Also, are the grommet thingies fitted top and bottom? The top holes are very different to the lower ones.

Right then assuming it is an s1 the new fixings you will need would be motorcycle windscreen fixings from halfrauds, just push rawlnut in hole coat bolt up with copperslip to prevent new ones rusting in refix grilles
