Well I picked up this little beauty of an Abarth 595 Comp in Record Grey a week a go and super happy with it.

As you can see below I've been an Abarth owner for 10 years with my previous Abarth 500, photo below

I did an readers car thread on this, I'll link that shortly when I've found the link again.

Anyway I fancied a change after 10 years with the Abarth 500 and had a short list of Peugeot 208 GTI by PS, Alfa Romeo Gualiatta Cloverleaf, Alfa Romeo Mito Cloverleaf, Mini JCW R56, Renaultsport Clio and finally another Abarth wasn't off the cards. After a lot of thinking and searching and many questions I decided I wanted to stay with Abarth. So not long after I found this Record Grey 595 Comp on Facebook and was down in Downham Market. After few questions, more photos and videos I decided it was worth a trip from North Yorkshire to Downham Market. I was super happy with it when I saw it, with full service history and nearly 63k miles on the clock with me being the 3rd owner.

Purchased it and then drive back up to North Yorkshire. Certainly a lot more powerful than my old Abarth with the larger Garrett turbo. Also the higher Comp spec is lovely to have.

The bodywork is in great condition, just a couple little areas which will polish out, the Abarth Supersport alloy wheels will need a refurbishment as got a couple of scuffs but that's about it for now. The interior with Sabelts bucket seats is in perfect condition, by the way the Sabelts are super comfy.

Anyway less waffling but here is photo from day I picked it up and when washed it other day.

Anyway I promise to keep this thread more up to date than my old one as I know a lot of people like these little cars.

Great choice and your car looks really good, congratulations.

Picked my Competizione up this week too, been on the look out for a Podium Blue or Circuit Grey one for ages and finally found one 140 miles away. Not regretted my choice and really enjoying it, everything I was after plus a bit more (better MPG than expected). Mine has the standard 2020 wheels albeit all satin black rather than diamond cut, much prefer the ones on yours but would have waited for ever otherwise to find the absolute perfect spec.

I really like the Sabelt seats too, was slightly nervous about them as coupled with the firm ride and being the wrong side of 50 I thought may have been a recipe for disaster....completely wrong though as they're really comfortable.

Hope you enjoy your car driving

Great colour. I wanted grey too when I bought mine but had to settle for red, but it does look gorgeous.

Only about 1500 miles on the clock and I'm absolutely loving it. It's going to get me into trouble.

It's like my motorbike only more comfy and I don't get wet or cold.

Enjoy smile

Cheers mate, very happy with it and only needs a little bit doing to it to get it cosmetically good.

That adrenaline green is a pretty epic colour, I've yet to see one in the wild yet but your right they have loads of character.

Congratulations on the new car too, did you get a podium blue one? Have you got a photo of it? Love the podium blue too, I remember seeing one I nearly went to go and see before this one popped up, is it the blue one on Autotrader that you got?

I was like you, I wanted the spec and I suspect if I didn't get this one I would have been waiting for ages, was lucky to get the facelift with it being 66 plate as the 16 plate were pre facelift I think.

The Sabelts don't seek to be for everyone but just like yourself I really like them, super comfy and supportive.

Hope you enjoy your comp too mate.

Cheers, you certainly won't regret it if you do or when you buy one.

Cheers, red is great colour too, my previous Abarth as you can see was red and it always came up well when washed. Not many miles on yours but glad it still puts a smile on your face.

That’s a very nice looking Abarth!

What is the difference between a 595 and a 695?

According to the Abarth configurator the 595 is 165bhp and the 695 is 180bhp, but I'm sure I've seen 180bhp 595s for sale secondhand.

Mine's a 695 and boy! is it quick biggrin performance figures are similar to the 987 Boxster 2.7 that I used to have.

Being a 2023 build it doesn't have the metal pedals and some of the other Competizione bits from earlier cars, which is a shame. But it does have a mechanical LSD and Koni suspension front and back.

Many thanks and yes I did get a Podium Blue one, it's got the black roof option along with black Brembo callipers’ etc.

I found it through luck but not through Autotrader, I was scouring Autotrader and PH Classified for ages but just couldn't find anything within 300 miles of where I live. Took a long shot and started to look at Abarth dealer stock online at various dealers who didn't advertise nationally, I lucked in on a Sunday night with a car that had literally been traded in the day before for a 695 Convertible. There weren't any photos and I feared the worse in that it would be another matte blue one, thankfully it wasn't and I drove down to Exeter on the Tuesday...deal was done.

Had to wait a few weeks to pick it up due to work and other "stuff" but really chuffed with it. Great drive back which reinforced my view I'd got the right car for me.

I haven't got any decent photos yet but will post some up by the weekend.

Now that is a difficult question and I'm very much generalising with the answer

It used to be the 595 was always "just" the 145 and 165 BHP cars, then came the 595 Competizione that had 180 BHP. The 695 was always 180 or 190 BHP (apart from the Yamaha XSR model which had 165) and for a long time was reserved for the specials (Tributo Ferrari, Maserati, Biposto, 70th Anniversary etc.

The 595 then reverted back in 2022/23ish to the 165 when the 595 Comp was dropped, the 695 then became the only one with 180 albeit in 695 base/Turismo/Competizione forms.

If you're still awake that's about the easiest way I can think to summarise it.

Well that’s cleared that up then hehe
What ever version these are very cool cars.
I used to have a Strada 130TC Abarth (ask your dads) so am very drawn to these. One day.

Wal 45 has described it very well, as you can see Abarth has one of the most confusing line ups and trim levels known to man. Always trying to explain this to people is always a massive laugh.

Cheers buddy, as you can tell I do like a red Abarth too.

That sounds like you got a keeper there. Look forward to seeing photos of it.

Wow that looks epic, can you sleep in that then? How much was that roof tent thing? People are always super surprised how practical these are and also how much bigger they are than they originally thought they would be.

Ah nice, congratulations on the new car and welcome to Abarth ownership, always here to help for any advice you may need.

That roof tent thing isn’t mine but I presume you sleep up there. Mine is below. Great cars and as a youth of the 80’s with Nova GSI and 205gtis I’m a massive fan.

Love these little things. My missis has a normal fiat 500 for driving instructing but she's quitting that soon and is now eyeing up the Abarth as a replacement. I will of course encourage this.
