Yesterday marked the 65th anniversary of it's recording breaking run down the ECML, so how ironic that the booked tour was one of just a handful of trains to run north of Preston on the WCML yesterday. It reversed at Carlisle and was the only service to use the S&C on it's return south. So a 70 year old puts the modern railway to shame!
