Saw my first DB12

Was riding past Stratton Motor Company earlier . Beautiful DB12 volante on the forecourt. Only let down was that it looked like it was painted in metallic Brown. It did look lovely..

I don't know anything about the Stratton Motor Company , but see they are advertising 44 Aston Martins.
That does not include the DB12 Volante (subject of this topic).
A huge total value AM stock.

They are not an AML main dealer, so presumably the DB12 would have originally been ordered through one of the main dealers.
Does that suggest someone is hoping for a profit by flipping?
Thought success at that game was now over. Apparently, even hoping to be allowed a Porsche RS order, no longer requires buying three Macans first.
When spending £250,000 for a DB12 to use, surely the buyer would want to choose their own specification. Presumably the waiting time for delivery is not too long.

One of the DB12 Coupes I saw for sale at my AM MD on Wednesday was in “Magneto Bronze” which looked like brown to me. Definitely a brave choice but it was rather striking and suited the car well. BRM.

Saw a ‘Brown’ DB12 at Aston Martin Works some weeks back. Look stunning to my eyes and probably won’t be a popular as AMBRG so more exclusive, but it’s all very subjective.

The Vanquish 2 came in an amazing bronze. Lovely.

I can't believe people would choose grey / black/ white / silver over this. But there you go.

Flipping Astons has over the last few years been relatively high risk unless for limited editions and even then needed to be very quickly.
Whilst you hear occasional stories of first time Porsche owners being able to buy a so called halo car ( usually a GT or RS model ) I doubt it’s got that much easier - that said you probably still have to buy a couple of Taycans rather than Macans.

That's the one I saw their forecourt. I also saw it on Friday, driving in the opposite direction. It was displaying an "AMXX " ( I cant remember the numbers) numberplate. It looks a lot better in the sunshine photo. Thanks for posting the photo.

They are just up the road from where I live. I believe they were a main dealer a number of years ago ( I could be wrong).. they always have a lot of stock. I've popped in a number of times to admire the cars and also taken my son as he loves Lotus . The staff have always been very welcoming, chatty and allowed my son to sit in their cars.

As I'm now in a position to buy my first AM. I will certainly be paying them a visit as a prospective buyer and will be certainly listening to advice from the owners on here.

There were two very much like that on the market at the same time in spring 2022. Bronze over cream truffle - fabulous. I was tempted... but my p/ex (the DB9) was away for 2 months having its gearbox fixed so I was rather stuck!
