Last week we lost a young family friend! He was a petrolhead through and through, but his death was not motoring related.
In January he travelled hundreds of miles to collect his dream car. A silver / burgundy Mk1 MX5. R plate, so I think it’s a 1.8 yes?

He was keen to learn and was planning to daily it, but also gradually restore.
His Mother now has the car and would really like to address the basic mechanicals, sill rust, and use it at weekends for a while.

To that end, she’s really wary of letting it out of her sight, but would like a trusted place to take it, within reasonable distance of Chessington, Surrey.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

The MX5 Restorer has a good reputation I believe and it's around 70 miles away?

Thanks for that. I think it’s worth traveling if they are trusted.
I’ve also been recommended a place in Bisley called C&C Sparks Motor Works.

If you need bodywork done then MX-5 Restorer is the best but you'll pay top whack.

For general servicing then Colin at Sparkes is good, bit of you do want someone closer then Alan at Cox & Buckles in Kingston is still going, I think. He never had a website so just Google him to get the phone number.
