I wanted to grind some welds of my Volvo XC60 siren box today so I can get in and replace the battery. My massive old angle grinder is just going to make a mess of it. Every other week I seem to have a need do some grinding that's more delicate than angle grinder allows for.

Soooo...I'm thinking of something like this but i'm wondering what the recognised brand names are in this space please?
Also, what do I need to be looking for when it comes to the grinder attachments? It looks like the ones they tend to supply aren't up to much.
What's the minimum watts I should be considering?
Thanks

What about an air powered micro grinder? I've got a Chicago Pneumatic branded one that is very handy has plenty of power running off my DIY grade 50l compressor. Because it is air powered it doesn't bugger the motor if you inadvertently stall it out too. Quite noisy though and ice forms on the outside if you use it in cold weather.

Yup noise is an issue as I live in a very residential area. I was going to get a compressor and an impact gun a month back but went the battery route.

Suhner are a very well respected brand, but you'll need deep pockets.

Finger sander / power file? I can't envisage your application as such but I have found my one of these to be a very flexible and useful bit of kit.

You know what, whilst a finger sander wouldn't have worked for what I needed they look great. Sticking that exact one on my Christmas list I think. Ta
