I raised this with a couple of people at Britcar but no one seemed to know the answer so hopefully someone here will know .
When locking the doors the alarm makes a beep . If you press the button immedialy therafter there is another different kind of beep.
Anyone know the significance of this?
My thoughts are it may be a deadlock or something to do with the sensors on the clam but there is nothing in the owners book about it.
I await the benefit of your collecxtive knowledge with interest

It's a "opppss" alarm, and is explained in the manual if I remember. It's designed to warn you that you have just immediatly unlocked it after locking it so that you don't, for example, lock the car, then put the fob in your pocket, press it by mistake, unlock the car, and walk away.
Nothing to worry about.

When alarming the car normally if you press the button again within one second, a loud beep will be heard. This isolates the interior movement sensor. This mode is automatically cancelled the next time you use your alarm. See alarm owners manual page 4 1.1.
I had a problem with false alarms in the middle of the night which we put down to air movement or insects inside the car.
