Hi everyone,

I want to insure my Chim from the beginning of June, and am just wondering what company(s) people on here use. I'm 46, clean licence, full NCB and my daily is a Toyota Yaris. I did get a quote a few months ago from a company that was affiliated with Adrian Flux, and they quoted me 470 for the year, I think with a 5k mileage limit which will be plenty.

I didn't think that was too bad, but I don't really need a year, I only intend to drive it over the summer months.

Any help muchos appreciated....

I use Footman James for my TVRs, but nowadays a lot of mainstream insurers will quote for TVRs via compare the market and go compare, so worth trying those too.

I've just switched to Footman James. Agreed value, salvage buy back, 5000 miles. Really good price.

Another footman james customer here, considerably less than your quote and I think I asked for 7k miles. Don't forget even if you're not driving it you may want cover for theft or accidental damage.

Being a member of a club TVRCC or Blackpool Thunder can help get a discount.

I use MSM - specialise in sportscars and kitcars etc- really easy to deal with. I had a very competitive price for 7,500 miles PA with european breakdown cover etc too.

Insured mine with Classicline the other week, they were very helpful. There wasn't much in it between them and Footman James price wise.

Mine is on a Footman James classic policy. It's about £250 a year. No idea what they are like if you have to claim though!

Also means you can use your NCB on your daily.

I’d recommend that you do take out a full year’s insurance as even if you only intend driving it during the summer, at least the car will be covered when garaged in the autumn and winter. In addition, I don’t think it will be much cheaper to insure for a part year rather than a full one.
