As per the title really.
What would be recommended for an xjr1300. Big heavy bike, about 140 bhp, hopefully when I’ve finished with it.
Be used for summer blasts, no track days.
So presumably a sports/tourer tyre?
Any suggestions ?

Im really happy with the Michelin Road 6 , great grip wet or dry and good longevity so far. Had Road 4 prior to that for couple of rear tyres.

Any of the mainstream sports touring tyres will be more than enough but the Road 6 or the RoadTec 01SE are the best of the bunch. The Road 6 will last a little longer but the RoadTec 01SE steers just a little quicker and has a little more feel.

spill the beans on the power improvements fella. have got an ignition advancer, 36Ys and some head work done to mine. Needs a dyno setup though

Thanks for suggestions.
It’s a log term project. The power is what I’m aiming for, 36y s. Modified standard exhausts, ignition advancer, flat slide carbs and pod filters. Hoping that gets me somewhere close with a decent dyno set up.

What head work have you had done?
Has it made much difference so far even without setting up on Dyno?
