GT4-which BMW?

Hello all.

Having just completed the American events and the FR Professional Events in a ridiculously tuned Ford Mustang I will soon have enough money to purchase my first virtual BMW for campaigning in the European events and, I hope, some of the more advanced series in GT4.

My question is, does the Pistonheads collective suggest that I buy the M3 CSL or should I collect another couple of thousand and buy an M5?

Or should I take a diferent route altogether and buy an Elise or Exige and start tuning?

Both are enjoyable, chuckable drives. The Elise will embarace more powerful machines, up until a (high) level at which point it just hasn't got the brute force required. It all starts to get a bit sketchy at warp speed too, where the extra weight of the M3 keeps things under a bit more control. But then an M3 probably needs a lot more spending on it to make things really interesting.
You can't really go wrong - flip a coin to decide, then buy the other one with your next crop of prize money.

Win a load of cash in the Special event in Tahiti (or something) and splash out on an M5 - tune it to 700Bhp and sort the suspension, breaks and trim of a little of the fat and you will obliterate all!! Alternatively what about saving for a Pagani?!

Having made the mistake of going that route, I can say it's a lot more satisfying to have to work for your race wins, rather than to just buy them.
(to the point that I now generally fit slightly inadequate tyres, which has the added benefit of increasing the sidways-ness)

Seconded, awesome car. Looks a little silly with a rear wing, but does make a difference. Makes a cracking drift car as well if you set it up right and use the X button judiciously

Thanks for all the replies-have had a bit of a breakthrough, by winning the All-US Championhip thing I was given a race car which was worth 200,000 and with which I have found it absurdly easy to win a number of series championships-the Tuned Car series was a joke...anyway I have decided to follow the path suggested below and save for a Pagani. I've been lucky enough to own an Elise and a couple of BMWs in real life (though no M cars yet), but a real Pagani is beyond all reasonable expectations so I have decided to take advantage of the virtual opportunities offered by GT4...once I have got it I shall start working on my Nurburgring times..
