I don't use this normally so unaware of its subtleties, but I just heard a fast jet or two zooming around near my house so thought I'd look to see what they were. No sign of them on the website. Does this mean they're top secret or I need to change the settings to see more stuff?

Big thread here for FR24 stuff

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

A lot of military stuff doesnt show on Flight Radar. https://globe.adsbexchange.com/ often shows the stuff that FR24 doesnt, you can even filter to just military stuff clicking the U in the top right corner. It has playback feature so if you are really interested you can go back to earlier. Just note the time is UTC not BST

Thanks, very interesting, though it won't play back today, only yesterday. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow!

I use https://globe.adsbexchange.com/ shows everything that's pinging a transponder, set it military to filter them.

As above - use ADSB Exchange, it tends to show more than FR24 does. But even then it won't show everything. I've had plenty of military aircraft fly over the house low level and they won't show up.

Big exercise going on right now over the UK. Currently looks like the Battle of Britain on flight radar.

Whereabouts? All I can spot is a Typhoon making pretty patterns between Peterborough and Downhsm Market
Had a look earlier East Anglia / Norfolk way. Typhoons, Osprey, Apache. Even the air ambulance had a look in.

Still lots up and add to that a Honey Badger and a KC135 and a Canadian Airforce Hercules. 5/6 Typhoons currently up in the sky.

at around 21:15 there were at least 8 Typhoons, plus 8-10, Draken adversaries (Honeybadger & DA20), multiple tankers, A400, Hercules, a coupe of Canadian A-4 skyhawks, plus another tanker, an Osprey, Chinook, Apache. Easily 30-50 military aircraft in the air simultaneously. Quite a busy night.

Messaged my buddy in the RAF. It's Exercise Cobra Warrior. Multinational. They were not supposed to have transponders on so shouldn't have shown up on ADSB

That's a major fail. Let's hope they don't make the same mistake if it's for real.
