996 GT3 front splitter
Discussion
A question to all 996.2 GT3 owners past and present...
How do you keep your front splitter from constantly being dislodged/coming off?? Mine came off, again, on a recent trip around the south of France. My car was set up not long ago by the brilliant team at Center Gravity and is standard ride height.
I appreciate they are designed to come off to protect the front PU but when grass growing in the middle of the road is enough to dislodge it it becomes a little frustrating.
Very much looking forward to hearing your solutions.
Thanks

I can’t find my receipt but this thread has all info, just US sizing.

Are you running the standard splitter or the Cup splitter?
I must have gone through at least a half dozen Cup splitters. Didn’t seem to matter what I used to bolt and stick them on with.
Cup splitter, the standard is no longer available as far as I know, happy to be corrected.I must have gone through at least a half dozen Cup splitters. Didn’t seem to matter what I used to bolt and stick them on with.

I've given up. They will always come off was my conclusion.
Don't think there was much difference between the standard & cup splitter anyway, except the cup splitters used to be a fraction of the price. I think I have a couple in the garage somewhere!
Do you just leave the splitter off Rob? Don't think there was much difference between the standard & cup splitter anyway, except the cup splitters used to be a fraction of the price. I think I have a couple in the garage somewhere!
IIRC the Cup splitter is quite a bit deeper than the standard.

Mines had some longer self tappers put through it and some tiger seal-the previous owner had good results with just black gaffer tape between the (cup) front bumper and the actual splitter.
It’s looking decidedly second hand though in case anyone has a cup one lying around they don’t need anymore!
