Replacement Battery Kids ride on car

I have a ride on car for my grandson and the battery is lasting less time each charge now .
I had a look inside and it has a fairly small dimension battery , albeit it would be easy to modify and fit a bigger battery in size.

The current one says 12v 4.5ah. Most replacements I see are 12v 6ah . Will this just last a bit longer or will its output damage the motors?

It'll be fine. It will only supply what the motor draws.
The Ah is a measure of capacity (energy stored) so the replacement will run for longer.

Don’t forget drill batteries you might have about, as long as they are 12v, you can buy adapters on eBay to make a nice connection

So long as its 12V you are golden.

The more ah capacity the longer the battery will last.

Just remember it will take longer to re-charge!

You could hook up a little digital volt meter display to the new battery so you can keep an eye on how charged it is.

Battery health voltage depends on the chemistry of the battery so check that to make sure you understand whats full and whats empty.. IYSWIM
