In all seriousness last visited a petrol station in February and already feels a bit alien.What a ridiculous statement by the RAC.
Fuel stations have the biggest price labels known to man. They stand 30 foot tall with 18 inch numbers on them. There's no small print.
If people fuel at Asda it's because it's convenient. It cannot be because they think it's cheaper - as the prices are so transparent.
Further, even if Asda are 2p (on average) more pricey, if you go out of your way to visit one you'll need an almighty sized fuel tank to save enough to justify the additional distance to travel.

Might have changed but doubt it as there are only six refineries in the UK and the petrol that goes to Asda will be from the same source as the one that goes into BP or Shell, although the stuff with the extra additives came via a different route.[/url]
Looks like it might be related to EG Group selling their UK petrol stations to ASDA for rebranding under the ASDA brand. Obviously both companies are closely linked through the Issa brothers. EG stations often seem to be in locations where there isn't much competition and they can charge higher prices.

Same in Houston, TX. Most gas stations show two prices on the big display signs out front - but sometimes the two prices are for different grades of gasoline, sometimes for gasoline vs diesel, and sometimes for the same fuel but credit vs cash.
