Bleeding ABS unit
Discussion
I’m pretty sure my Clio 200 has air in its ABS unit. I’ve got a diagnostic tool that will activate the ABS unit to help bleed the brakes, but I’m unsure of the procedure.
I always bleed using a pressure bleeder (Eezibleed) but I’ve never needed to do anything special with the ABS. In my head all I need to do is use the diagnostic tool to ‘buzz’ the ABS while pressure bleeding as normal using the Eezibleed. However, something I’ve read suggests the ABS will only activate when the pedal is pressed which means using a traditional two person technique.
Can anyone advise how these normally work?
Thanks, Rob.

Normally the ABS bleed procedure is specifically a one man job, hence why the ABS bleed function exists.
I normally find if you combine the eazibleed with pumping the pedal it works well enough to bleed the ABS unit, but aside of that follow the instructions on your scanner as it should tell you what to do.
Oh, and in big block capitols DO NOT RUN OUT OF FLUID.

Thank you. The instructions on the scanner are in finest Chinglish, hence me seeking a bit of clarity.
So essentially…
1. Activate scanner
2. Connect Eezibleed
3. Open bleed nipple
4. Pump pedal a few times
5. Wait for air to appear
6. Close bleed nipple
7. Disconnect Eezibleed and deactivate scanner.
…?
Cheers.

Without instructions I would be going for:
Connect eazibleed full of fluid & attach to air source (spare or compressor) as available
Open bleed nipple
Pump pedal several times checking for air.
Close bleed nipple
Repeat for all 4 corners starting from furthest away from master cylinder
Check pedal firmness
Activate "bleed ABS" function
Check pedal again
Repeat again if required.
