Looking for a 968 Cabriolet

Hmmmm....
my own experience of sourcing a 968 cab was that it took considerable patience and time.
is your friend looking in the US or UK? if the latter, she may well have to accept compromises, most specifically the aircon. you have to ask yourself, why??!?!
if its the states, she will have more luck, no doubt.
I looked hard for over 12 months for a manual cab. only about 1000 968cabs were imported to the uk of which 2/3 were tiptronics. if she is happy with a tip then the pool gets a bit bigger. if its a manual she is after, with aircon, all I can say is good luck.
it is worth the effort however. Mine has thus far proven enormous fun. the hood mechanism, once you get the hang of the release keys, is a doddle, takes about 20secs to go up or down, and is of very good quality. it may sound a bit agricultural but it is a very good fit and touchwood no leaks so far.
and yes, they do seem cheap at the moment, when you take into account the bombproof build, sizzling acceleration, effortless 6th gear motorway cruising, fabulous looks and the capacity to carry 4 persons plus a decent spread of luggage, I am baffled as to why they never really took off. but then they did arrive just in time for the recession
pistonheads classifieds has two at the mo. both look in pretty good nick. neither has aircon though. (on reflection I dont think I ever came across one with aircon in all my extensive searching)
