I am probably worrying too much but I do have some concerns about the noises from my engine.

Since buying the car from a respected indie I have covered less than 500 miles. The car was serviced by TVR Power as part of the deal (6000 mile service, new front shocks and one or two other bits and bobs).

It is a 96 4.2 showing about 38000 miles and came from the factory (it was a development car) and has latest clutch, a balanced crank! and the dipstick at the front of the engine plus other mods.

When cold the engine sounds like a can of marbles, as they do, but is still quite noisy when warm. It sounds like it could be the timing chain, BUT could it be clatter cams??? I am not sure if it still has clatter cams or if they were changed by the factory?
The noise is 'clattery'

I'm probably best ringing TVR Power and see if they know from the service and TVR themselves to see what records they have, but would be interested in comments.

Also what about good indies around Derby/Sheffield areas?

Will there be any experts at CREAM who could listen to it??????

Just a few!

TVR Power would be the best ones to chat to, to put your mind at rest.

You may not know who trackcar is but take this man up on his offer - he really knows his stuff, especially Cerbs, and then some!

Thanks Guys.

I know of Jools, mainly from here, and it will be a pleasure to meet him.

Jools I will give you a call, unfortunately I am working every day between now and CREAM next Saturday. The car is in Sheffield today and I will be driving it back to Belper late this afternoon.
