Anyone care to hazzard a guess at what this car would be worth on the UK market ?

LHD Boxster 2.7 2000, black with black leather, tiptronic, lux pack, full Porsche main dealer history, 69000 kms, excellant condition.

I guess tiptronic is worth less than manual ?

Cheers

I'd have said mid-teens. £15K ish? Might be less. Might be a little more.

A friend of mine just bough a LHD 2.5 for £11K with similar mileage.

I also heard via PH that a 3.2S 01 plate car was sold back to an OPC for £17K...so on the forecourt at 21 - 22 probably.

If you're buying you're getting a LOT of car for little money. If you're an owner (like ME!) its something of a bummer...

I've tried the PCGB site, but it is difficult to find out what I would get until after I have paid my membership fee.

A bit of a Catch 22 situation. Marx (Groucho) is alleged to have said "I wouln't join a club that would have me as a member". Me, I just want to see the potential benefits before I join.

10% off parts prices (ie only 10% of the cost) for an OPC service and a fairly dull though professionally produced magazine IMHO

Yep: Mag is OK (not great). The discount is worth having (must remember to ask when I hand the car over at service time.)

Club meetings - I don't use them. But I *do* like the Track Days and the Track Day's crowd that go. Its a little "club within a club". Very friendly. Good fun.

Hi,

There may be no difference in the Marketplace between the TipS and the Manual, but having the TipS does increase the Loan Value of the car. In my case, I believe they added $1,000USD because of it.

Also, TipS or Manual, it's a matter of taste, but having driven both extensively, I can tell you the TipS is very good. Further, it is more robust, experiencing fewer failures and the TipS cars suffer a slightly lower incidence of RMS failure (probably due to the fact that there is less stress applied to the Crankshaft due to the Viscous Coupling (Torque Converter).

Happy Motoring!...Jim'99
