Can your net value dominate any staircase?

Do you have to send the butler over to the next country estate when you want to knock frozen sausages into your neighbours lawn?

Prompted by the "Are you rich" thread where there was a suggestion that having a net worth of over £120k makes you rich, I couldn’t think of anything more PHworthy than this. Of course it is an anonymous poll but you can always drop hints by asking for a current valuation on your 250GTO, just so you get the numbers right .

This is your total wealth if you sell everything, clear out under the mattress, cash every pension and trust fund, but also pay every debt, mortgage and PCP arrears.

Basically, it’s what you are worth dead .

Obviously everything is an estimate so just do your best and if close to a threshold, feel free to round up to make yourself feel better .

I wonder if this will get as cringe as the other thread. For some reason folks on here love telling everyone how much they earn or are worth.

You mean you don't have a Boeing 747-8i? What are you? Some sort of poor person?

PH really needs to start checking peoples credit rating before they're allowed to post rolleyes

I do have a mk1 mx5. Sills are starting to rust and this is a good reminder to get them done.

My butler says we are almost destitute, but the postillions say it isn't quite that bad.

For a lot of people Dead or Not Dead will be quite different numbers due to life insurance and Death in Service benefits.

I have gone for ‘Not Dead’

Yea, then there’s the question of your solo wealth against household, the two can be difficult to separate.

None of this is going HMRC so best estimates is fine biggrin.

Interesting that (at this stage in the poll) of 31 people, approx two people are worth £500m+

There's at least one billionaire (or near as dammit) on here that I know of.

My net worth is almost entirely in my pensions and property. Plus my wife and kids would benefit from various insurance poliices (personal and through work).

Do you trust what people say or vote on here?

On balance, largely yes, otherwise, what's the point?

Though it's probably healthy to maintain some degree of cynicism but equally, going too far in the opposite direction is also unhealthy.

I'm probably similar, but even though this place is faceless people seem to like to big themselves up.

Anyway I voted as if I sold everything that's practical to sell less any debt.

I think the banding of this poll is not going to provide much useful info...

ignoring the mx5 one, the mid two bands span 500k to 10m!! To have three bands above 10m is pretty meaningless.

frankly, 5-10m+ should have been the top band - the % of people at this level of higher is pretty small in reality - even on PH - whereas he span between 500k - 5-10m needs more bandings.

It occurred to me the other day, looking at an election voting intentions poll, that I hope PH's database only remembers that you have voted in a poll, and not how you voted. Inadvertently gathering personal data on things like political allegiance and wealth carries risks in a data breach from a GDPR and criminal use of data point of view.

Household and Solo are the same for me unfortunately frown (i'm not counting the kids, they claim constant skintness anyway smile )

Not bothered about HMRC, I'm a PAYE Failure (a charming little phrase I picked up in PH) so they know everything anyway thumbup

Sorry, I just blew everything on some new business cards, bone in colour and with the Silian Rail font.
