Hi
thought I would start a new question which i tagged on to another topic.
I have a 996 Targa, and would love to have a 996tt or so I thought, but the cost gap is very high.
I understand that a new GT3 is out next year or so.
Whats the difference for driving between the 996tt and a GT3. spec details, bhp/ton, handling etc any insight would be appreciated and views.
I plan to only do about 5 track days a year so it will be a road car 99.99%, am used to hard rides from Caterhams Im still only dreaming of a 996tt or GT3 but if I save my pennies now........ who knows.
Thx
James

Here's a reply from a GT3 owner, James, ;-) also see the Noble v GT3 thread.:
'As this guy is a Caterham driver I would suggest he buy a turbo. That way he will continue to get in everyone's way on track days a situation he is used too no doubt!
996 Turbo especially as he is doing 99.99999% road use!
Anyway all the GT3's due in next year have deposits paid already.'

The Porsche GT3 and Porsche 996 turbo are aimed at different needs. The owner of a GT3 typically uses his car for around 5 to 10 track days per year. The car is built with track work as it primary function. However it comes with ceratin creature comforts such as a stereo, air con and elec windows to make it usable as everyday transport. A few owners do use their cars everyday but they are the minority. The 996 turbo is aimed at those who wish to cover lots of road miles at high speed and has all mod cons as standard. Ideal for the owner who has a house in southern France or an appartment in Switzerland for when he or she goes skiing. Still competent to perform admirably on track it does carry a lot of excess baggage around with it!
