Got a big birthday coming up. Have done a trackday in my own car, and had a passenger car ride experience.
There are many experiences advertised for cars, but I would like a go on the back of a high performance motorcycle with a very capable rider.
I have never had a bike licence, and only ever been on the back of a bike once.
Any suggestions please, as can't see anything on the 'net.

The only place I’ve seen it,is at silverstone on a track day.
It was offered at the lunch break, with one of the instructors.
From memory it was about 40 quid for a couple of laps, friends wife did it and raved about it, Think you had to have your own helmet etc.

As there’s no track days at silverstone this year, this isn’t really that helpful, but at least you know it is possible.

No longer exists as a trackday add on as they can't get insurance, has also almost disappeared from BSB, WSB and MotoGP for similar reasons.

There was a Ducati open day at Knockhill last summer, and they were doing pillion rides for anyone brave enough to go on the back of Christian Iddon or Ruben Xaus. It was all petite woman that done it, no fat lads.

If Liberty buy up GP then I think this will make a comeback, been very popular in F1 since it returned

Do Bennett’s not still do them at the BSB rounds?

I won a competition with them a few years ago that included a pillion lap of the track. I was in the back of a S1000RR with Darren Fry riding (The ‘F’ in FS3) and it was belting, at least 50% of the lap was done on the back wheel.

Wow, i can't think of anything worse!

As said, it used to be a thing, but no longer as far as I'm aware.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm in Northamptonshire, so fairly central, but alas it seems Silverstone don't do them as someone mentioned.
I can understand the insurance problems, and I'd need full kit supplied, and I'd doubt if I'd bounce very well either.
I suppose karting is the next best thing, and I've only done it on inside venues. I'll see if Whilton locks do it. Thanks again.

Do any of your friends ride fast bikes that would be willing to give you a pillion ride on the road?

There’s still places to ride where you’d be able to feel what a fast bike is really like when properly opened up.

Looks like you will have to get a bike licence and a bike for your birthday instead. nudge nudge etc.

I find karting a bit underwhelming compared to riding a bike. They don't accelerate quickly enough to make up for my lack of skill/abundance of weight!

An Ariel Atom drive or passenger lap would probably be more exciting. Or something single seat maybe.

I've absolutely seen pillions at lunch / in breaks at Donington BSB this season.

Wasn't a BSB bike obviously, but fairly sure it had enough oomph. Semi faired perhaps?

They were R1’s and S1000RR’s when I had my pillion lap.

I think they are using either the S or M1000R’s now though.

the Sporting Bears will be here, not too far from the OP offering passenger rides, albeit on the open road.

There'll be at least one Atom there.

Ha, just bought an Abarth 595, which seems to be the nearest I'll get to a bike.
One review I read commented, it was as near to bike as you can get without getting cold or wet!
Took it to Whilton locks karting today as they had some racing on. Going to go on an arrive and drive soon, and I'll take my grandson to have a go in the Bambino class!
Good idea about Kimbolton. That's one of my favourite roads, so I'll go to that meet as well.
Thank you all for your suggestions.

Well, to bring this thread to a close, I've just returned from Whilton outdoor karting track. Two 20 minute sessions, back to back, 5 minutes break.
It was a good experience leaving me absolutely knackered, and in need of a nice beer to finish the day off.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
