Astounding craftmanship.

I managed to weedle my way onto the stand on Saturday and I was dumbstruck at the quality of the build. Their exposed gearstick linkage is amazing, and as for the leather, WOW! If I had 215,000 euros kicking about, one of these would most definately be on the list.

Matt.

It does look like an odd combination of old fashioned craftsmanship and 21st centaury go - absolutely amazing.

I can only wonder at the apparent quality (and shudder at the time it must take to keep it looking so shiny!).

I was very dissapointed that the I couldn't get on to the Spyker stand. The car is an amazing looker.

One of my favourite features of the design was the honesty of construction. I adore those exposed rivets on the body surface. I love the way you can see every separate part and how they all fit together, wonderful.

The exposed gear linkage is so cool, but I'm not sure how that would pass SVA...on the other hand who cares. The wheel is a bit odd, but so's the rest of the car.

Somehow the whole car transcends what looks like crude constuction and becomes almost jewel like, even the race-fresh Le Mans drop-out was dripping with so much character I wanted to pick it up, take it home, give it a bowl of milk and let settle down in front of the fire.

Don't think I'd let the kids stroke it though...looks like its got a temper.

P.s: Hope they have better luck at the next Le Mans, It was by far the best looking car in the race IMOHO. Quick too, but had rear suspension probs (was that right?) shame we didn't see more of it.

This car is a jewel, wether it's a practical proposition or not doesn't bother me, I see it as the ultimate blend of Brooklands type nostalgia and modern technology brought together with the utmost care and craftsmanship.....love it to bits, btw if the steering wheel came from a boat it would be a Riva

We want space age ultra design chic, not a 60year old bloke building the car he has always wanted! Wake up smell the coffee, its Sh*t!!...

I don't know much about art, but I know what I like? You certainly know what you like! (... and clearly don't recognise art when you see it )

Pearls before swine etc, each to their own I spose, the car is a work of art and, as such, is open to interpretation

Well I think it looks stunning, I think the steering wheel is designed to look like a aeroplane prop as Spyker used to make planes many years ago

If you get a chance, and you have a fairly good connection to the internet, run over to my site and check out the Spyker video...

The man driving (he was actually from Spyker Cars) was by no means a professional driver, but the car does "sound the business". It is also one of those cars that looks one way in pictures, but takes your breath away in person...

Downtown Winter Park and it didn't rain this time!

The highlights of the show were the Spyker, the CLK-GTR and F50 (again - owned by the same guy) and a gentleman by the name of Ian entered one of the TWO XJ220s that he owns into the show...

Great pictures Ernest - thanks!

When is the Pebble Beach bash? I frequently travel to the West Coast so maybe I can go along to it.

This car's design and execution is from a bygone era not created by Ferrari or Lamborghini arguably. Paganini and McClaren are the only other car that comes to mind that is a true example of technology, luxury, and speed. Well done.

For info on Pebble Beach:

www.pebblebeachconcours.net/

This show (The Winter Park show) was a great deal of fun. The tour was especially enjoyable. We (my wife acted as my navigator) trailed an absolutely beautiful Barchetta through most of the tour and a lot of very exotic machines were actually driven during the tour (CLK, F50, XJ220, et al).

The Gala (black tie) event was nothing less than astounding. It was an outdoor affair complete with a yellow Mercialago, a new Maserati Spyder and an Aston-Martin Vanquish used as decorations around the dining area.

Of course, the car show was the main event and they closed down the main street in Winter Park for the entire duration of the show. Some of us estimated that there was probably about half a BILLION dollars worth of machinery on display.

...and of course, it didn't rain

very nice exterior (mind you, top left piccy looks like a Ford Puma???), interior looks tat. Like a 70's throwback, and who wants the gear linkage on show like that. Yuk! Steering wheel not too clever if you hit it in an accident. Really don't like the sofa/cushion effect of the fabrics, and don't like the colour either. Might be a nice car to drive, but so are a lot of other marques!

Exposed gear linkage - you don't get any of that sort of tat on a bike. Oh, hang on...

I saw this car at the 2001 Frankfurt autoshow, but it was a hardtop (think it looks even better). I thought it looked fantastic, a nice blend of old and new technology.

I'm curious how the owner got it into the US. Since I am just beginning the process of importing a TVR, I would love to chat with the owner if anyone knows who it is
