I noticed that "joust" always gets his car checked prior to going on Track days.

I'm thinking about the doing the same.

Do all dealers offer this service and if so what are the costs and what's involved?

Matt, out of interest how do you check that the rad fans are operating?

Hmmm, I was hoping for a more scientific and faster method than than Nathan!

Something like I had on an old TVR - I wired a switch under the dash that bypassed the sensor to keep the engine cooler when I was queueing at racetracks!

Go for a blast and drive home, if the front end sounds like you've run over a hover craft then the fans work And you get to have a drive too

A quick check is turn the air-con on, both fans will then always operate at slow speed (or they did on my 2.5)

Doesn't prove they work at high speed, but proves they are working (if you see what I mean).

I'm aware of the various methods of forcing the fans into operation as a check (and kindly mentioned by my Nobility bretheren above!) - the point of my question was I was wondering whether the "experts" had a fast method of checking these fast without running up the engine to hot (eg: by way of hotwiring) - clearly not!
