Where to buy a Nikon lens in the US

I have a mate coming over from the US on a month's time and want to buy a Nikon 60mm macro lens. Anyone got any suggestions where to buy it in the US, and he can bring it in as ahm... contraband for me?

IIRC B&H Photo in NY always seem to get mentioned.

I ain't going to the States in the immediate. It's mu chum in Houston coming over. I can buy the lens for less than $400 easily in the States, whereas here they are more like £350. I thought I'd pay for it online, get it shipped to him and he can unbox it and bring it through with his stuff

I have the camera! It's the lens I want. I have the 105mm macro but on the D70 it turns it into about a 150/160mm lens and it means I cannot take some of the pictures I want.

B&H is about the size of a small supermarket with a huge reputation so I think you should be safe with mail order. I have only visited in person but their prices are pretty well spot on.

You'll be safe with mail order from B&H.

You have to jump through a few hoops before they'll ship your first order though. Copies of Both sides of Credit Card etc etc.

i've used B&H. it can sometimes be a serious PITA when you are ordering from outside the US, but they are definately trustworthy
